Stafford
Main Street is a 501 (c) (3) organization , community
based, and is supported in part through an agreement with
the Kansas Main Street Program, Kansas Department of Commerce. We
are proud to be a part of Stafford and one of the 24 Main Street cities
in the State of Kansas.
Stafford
is a rural community located in Central Kansas just 40 miles West of
Hutchinson, 28 miles North of Pratt, and 37 miles South of Great
Bend.
Quivira
Wildlife Refuge is located just 13 miles Northeast of Stafford and is
one of over 540 refuges across the United States. It provides
habitat for hundreds of species of birds, along with deer, fish,
reptiles, and plants. The 17 mile drive through the Refuge
provides visitors many opportunities to observe wildlife located along
and around the salt marshes located therein.
Further,
Stafford has many historical buildings and homes and the Stafford
County Historical and Genealogical Society houses many donated
collections including one of the largest (28,000) glass negatives
collections in the State of Kansas.

are abundant in Stafford, as we are one of the few small communities to
offer a County Hospital, medical and optical services, a full service
grocery, a movie theater, an historical library, antique shops, variety
store, bank, post office, swimming pool, parks, lumber yard, auto repair
services, convenience store, farm stores, bed & breakfasts, restaurants and a host of service businesses.
